Get answers to common questions about Tape-In Maintenance (4 Inch Grow-Out).
Most appointments take 45 to 75 minutes depending on extension count and any blending cut or color. Our stylists refresh tapes, reposition bonds, and smooth wefts then offer styling and aftercare instruction.
Our trained stylists move tapes carefully to minimize stress on natural hair. When maintained regularly and applied correctly, tape-ins are gentle; we assess hair health and recommend spacing or treatments to protect integrity.
Typically every 6 to 8 weeks for up to four inches of grow-out ensures optimal bond strength and appearance. We personalize timelines based on hair growth, lifestyle, and extension density for best results.
Yesāminor trims, blending, and tone adjustments can often be completed during your maintenance. Major color changes or full restyles may require additional time or a separate appointment, which your stylist will advise.
During this refresh we typically lift and replace the adhesive tabs, moving the original wefts up for a clean bond. If adhesive is compromised or tapes are damaged, weāll replace them and recommend reinstallation.
Aftercare includes gentle sulfate-free shampooing, avoiding oily scalp products at the bonds, sleeping with a loose braid or silk pillowcase, and waiting 48 hours before heavy styling or swimming.
