Get answers to common questions about One-on-One Stylist Shadow Day.

This day is for licensed or apprentice stylists seeking advanced training—ambitious newcomers, experienced stylists wanting to refine luxury color or extension skills, and those interested in salon business operations. Prior experience recommended but not strictly required; we tailor the day to your goals.

You’ll observe luxury color techniques, extension application and blending, client consultations, time management, product selection, and front-to-back business practices. The lead stylist will demonstrate live services and provide explanations, tips, and Q&A tailored to your current skill level.

The experience is a full working day, typically 6–8 hours depending on the salon schedule and client flow. Time includes observation, hands-on practice when appropriate, consultations, and a debrief with the lead stylist to review techniques and business strategies.

Yes, hands-on opportunities are available when appropriate and agreed upon in advance. The lead stylist assesses your skill level and may permit supervised practice on real clients or mannequins to reinforce techniques, ensuring safety and professional standards are maintained.

We recommend booking at least two to four weeks in advance to align with the lead stylist’s schedule and client appointments. Shorter notice may be possible but is subject to availability—contact us to discuss specific dates and needs.

Bring your cosmetology license, a notebook, questions, and any tools you prefer. Wear professional attire and closed-toe shoes. If you’d like supervised practice, bring sanitized tools and reference portfolio images; we’ll confirm all requirements when you book.
